photos by Quinbus Flestrin (thanks!)

Very upset i could'nt make it to the Green Man Festival at the weekend, from the reports i've read and the photos i've seen i should have bought a ticket instead of July's food shop..gisajobsomeone! you can view Christian Payne's photo's of Lone Pigeon and friends here.

here's what my uncle (who went) had to say about it...

"It was splendid! quick snapshot for you...
camping under a huge cedar tree in the ground of the stately house, Andy Votel mashing up a weirdness of indian soundtrack to funk to arabian, Adem playing two live acoustic sets in the camping field, fiddlers and guitraists doing improtu Johnny Cash, Pedro blasting the beards off the chin stroking set with an ear splitting live drum and sample sonic assault, Jeffry Lewis doing his comic book assitsed tunes and a great song about Will Oldham, Lone Pigeon going bonkers and doing weird demented dancing, King Creosote and the Earlies with Adem like some kind of Folk8 thing, The Earlies were splendid too and many many more too numerous and woderful to mention plus I was very pissed and can't remember the names."

John, did u make it to Bonnie Prince Billy and Joanna Newsom?

15. WHO'S UP TOP?

KBT / BETA REALESES

This is becoming the King Biscuit Time blog. anyway, here's the cover for the upcoming single...

The tracklisting for The Beta Band's 'best of' has just been announced. i heard its coming with a bonus live cd (recorded at the last london show) which will be amazing! i really don't like best of's, they never show the whole picture. who ever's picked the tracks has really slipped up..soo many brilliant songs missing! your best bet is to just go out and get all 4 albums.

RED ROBOT EYES

Hey! u can see me and my red stella eyes at the Devendra Banhart gig on friday (far right of photo)
you gotta check out all the videos from Devendra's drummers blog, they are amazing!

LIVE - DEVENDRA BANHART

Saw Devendra Banhart on friday..was brilliant! more that lived up to my hopes. he played lots of stuff of the upcoming album 'cripple crow' and a few covers too..pretty sure he did lauryn hill's 'doo wop' (that thing)! some of the Vetiver guys backed him up, so it was i bit more upbeat than his past shows. instead of him sat cross legged on the floor inside a ring of daisy's he was boppin about the stage making butterfly hands and generally acting the big bearded fairy he is. Josephine Foster and Espers supported, both great, particually Miss Foster..her voice makes the sound of a saw being bent (if u have seen the film 'delicatessen' or seen the skills of rolf harris you will know what i mean).
the drummer from Banhart's band posts videos and photos from the tour on his site, there are some pretty funny clips. check them out here.
you can listen to a few new tunes from 'Cripple Crow' here.
team goal isn't going to well at the moment (pizza and a magic roll, oh dear)...

DOODLE NO.12

Doodle of the day...

MY LAST DAY IN A COMA

So big brother ends tomorrow after 88 weeks or something stupid like that...i'm very very tired! even though it's been great (2nd best series just behind no.3) i can't wait for it all to end. nearly every day i wasted 30mins at lunchtime while eating me beans, 30mins on dermot's BBLB, 30mins on BBBM, 1 hour on the evening show, and at least another 30mins talking about it (to myself if no one is in) afterwards. hav'nt really had a favourite housemate this year although there have been plently of real funny moments. probably my favourate was ("let's have a look at your best bits")..when eugene smacked into the glass door while pretending to be a hypnotised chicken! i remember before when the other series ended i got a feeling my life was empty and worthless...hope i'm ok this year.

did anyone see 'lost' ? i can't wait til next wednesday comes round...i'm counting down the hours.

THE GUATEMALAN HANDSHAKE

FACELESS DRONES

*New Boards Of Canada album out Oct 17th! it's to be called 'The Campfire Headphase'. I'm a bit dissapointed with the new cover, it looks too much like 'music has the right to children'.

*Download Mystery Jets cover of Bloc Party's 'Pioneers'

*New Lady Sovereign song 'hoodie' (only a little bit better than the turd that was '9 to 5') hope she pulls herself together and starts putting out good tunes again.

*'Run The Road 2' is out Sept 5th. It's the follow up to..guess what? 'Run The Road'!, which was a great compilation of some of the charming grimey chaps. here's the tracklisting and you can listen to 2 tracks from it here.

"Bad news chums this weeks show is a no goer due to the fact that my computer is a no goer. Old sparky finally gave up the ghost midweek due the failure of one of the fans inside. Fear not thought thanks to many heated discussions with the bank manager we (god willing) will be back on air next week with all the usual crap. sorry folks !"
