ATOM BOMB LAUNCH

The string vest is back! in fashion? You & The Atom Bomb launched their new mini album on Saturday night at the Cube Cinema. It was like watching pop music, it was POP music! We played some tunes made by others throughout the night in the bar which seemed to go down alright. At the end of the night Delifinger & I cleared the dance floor and had a little shake-down which was really quite dreadful..i have the video, i have the power to delete it.

Wet paint! a quick last minute OLO Radio poster i made and stuck up..

Woooah!! BARNET!..

LOOK OUT! PEOPLE!!..

THE BOSS & CO (King Creosote Live)

I went and saw the boss (not Bruce, Kenny..AKA King Creosote) on wednesday night. Very good it were to. After the gig we all slipped off for a few beers and a pizza. The delightful Romanhead & Rozi Plain were also in attendance..as were some good ol' fashioned groupies including one slighty mad girl called ASTRO! maybe that's her stripper name? if you want to blame anyone for the poor standard of photos..blame her!

Here's The Pictish Trail's take on the evening.

Left to Right: Miss Crook, Lionheart, Pictish Trail, Rozi Plain, Romanhead, King Creosote, On The Fly, MC Quake..

OLO vs THE BBC

A few days ago we were invited to give a radio interview for BBC Bristol. The edited interview will go out soon-ish, we'll let you know when that is. Topics included 'Carry On' films, Mr Slush Puppy, foam parties, and Delifinger's flakes of skin. Bet you can't wait! Below are some pics from our time at the B.B.C!

V.I.P passes that got us EVERYWHERE!! the waiting room and the Andi Peters broom cupboard were the main hangouts..

I wore my OLO Radio cap to show BBC Radio that the BIG BOYS were in the building!!..

Another OLO cap, this one modelled by Seaweed..

Interviewer Kate 'THIS IS THE NEEEWS!" Salisbury quite relaxed before we started talking..

We are a very political band, we stand for/by political vans. If you look closely you will see that Delifinger is wearing sandles..will the toe ever get better??..

What's this!?? A worm of some sort. It was found on Seaweed's jacket after we had left the interview. This was shocking! I doubt we'll return to the Beeb again..we're all very dissapointed with them..

I found another worm in our house later, this was a nice friendly worm..not like that nasty dirty thing that attacked Seaweed in the studio (not Kate, the worm)..

SKDEWIDS

DOUBLE DATE

We are DJing (in real life) twice in September.

Tomorrow night..

One of our favourite Bristol bands You & The Atom Bomb are launching their new mini album 'The Spirit Of Things' at The Cube Cinema. There's some great support acts too! We've Dj'd / played / partied at past Atom Bomb gigs / launches and they are always fun affairs! HERE are the photos from last years album launch. Below is the poster i made for the night..

Date No.2
Our good friends the SPECIAL WEDNESDAY team have asked us to join them..well, battle them at their Super Special Wednesday II club night. It's fancy dress, you can go dressed as any fictional character. When the clock strikes 12 on the night it'll be my birthday! my birthday wooo! It's gonna be funny, come on down! HERE are last year's photos from the first Super Special Wednesday. Here's the poster for the night (i drew the OLO Krangs)..

OLO JACKANORY

In no way do we condone this..but we couldn't not post it up (even though it's pretty embarrassing). The Bristol Uncovered show on BBC Bristol played some snipets from 'Bare Foot' while reading out (in a Jackanory style) a little peice we wrote for the Fence newsletter that they asked us to write.
WE DIDN'T SEND IT TO THESE TWO TO READ OUT ON THE RADIO! We sound like such dullards. TOO MUCH INFORMATION!

HOOLIGAN HANGOVER

ICH BIN

Safetyword think i look like Heinrich Heine. Below is an example of his writing. It does very much sound like something i would write don't you think?

Heinrich Heine > "Ah, God's derision weighs down heavily upon me. The great author of the universe, the Aristophanes of heaven, wished to demonstrate strikingly to the lowly, earthly, so-called German Aristophanes how my wittiest sarcasms were nothing but miserable mockery compared with his own, and how pathetically inferior I am in terms of humour to his colossal merry-making. Terrible indeed is the slop bucket of derision emptied over me by the master, and horrifyingly cruel his amusement. I humbly admit his superiority and bend down before him in the dust. But though I lack such supreme creative power, there is within my mind the spark of eternal reason, and I may even haul before its forum this divine derision and subject it to reverential criticism. And I would dare to suggest most subserviently that I feel this cruel joke which the master inflicts on his poor student is lasting rather too long; it has already lasted over six years, and it is becoming positively tedious. For I would also like to permit myself the humble observation that this joke is not new and that the great Aristophanes of heaven has already used it on another occasion, thus plagiarising his very self."

STEP INTO MY OFFICE

I had a meeting with the new bank manager on Friday..he looked younger than me! He told me he's writing a book and that he liked 60s music. Once we'd stopped the chit-chat he got on to reviewing my overdraft..not good, although he did say i was a good boy and told me my credit rating has gone up (i probably shouldn't be mentioning this online. Ha! i would like to see the crooks try and steal my remaining £10 out of my account). Above is a scribble i did while he left the room to get me a drink.

HEADLINE OF THE YEAR
