It's nearing the end of the year so we are doing the totally predictable thing..*groan* 'the best of 2005' show..hmm. we will all be sat round piecing the 2005 jigsaw puzzle together. hairhandhair will probably hog the rocking chair, delifinger will make the tea, lionheart will hand out the biscuits, and seaweed will no doubt be curled up in a ball on the fur rug in front of the fire.
live @ 9pm... tune in for a re-cap and power-nap.

As warned earlier in the month, here is another list. just be thankful you don't live with me, it's hell! as i'm sure all my empty, run-down biro's would tell you if they could talk. anyway, there have been soo many amazing albums out this year. it's hard picking a top 25. i don't HAVE to do it, but..well..i do. something inside me makes me compile things in the form of a list. my family think i should see someone about it. it got really bad while on the dole, i'd write about 4/5 lists a day! i knew i had a problem when i wrote down 'shower' on one of my 'things 2 do' lists.
back to the music..in the past, lucky winner's (eh!?) of my 'album of the year' have included OUTKAST 'STANKONIA' (2000), THE BETA BAND 'HOTSHOTS 2' (2001), THE STREETS 'ORIGINAL PIRATE MATERIAL' (2002), DIZZEE RASCAL 'BOY IN DA CORNER' (2003), DEVENDRA BANHART 'REJOICING IN THE HANDS / NINO ROJO' (2004). prize cheques are in the post guys!
now we are at the end of 2005, here are my favourite albums of the year. oh, and i won't comment on any of them cos i'll come over sounding like Paul Gambaccini (who only seems to pop up on 'the greatest ___ ever' or when someone dies).
first, here are the one's who just missed out, not in any order...

I was stood in a pub with some mates last night when a big sweaty man (in 50's) approached us and forced a cassette tape on us and said "i used to sing you know..listen to my tape..it was recorded in the 80's". a little scared, we nodded and told him we'd play it on this week's olo radio. stuck it on the stereo this morning and felt drunk again (that's all i'll say). tune in on wednesday to her it for yourself's.

??? DIET - DAY 1

Started another fad diet today. i've been eating way too much crap and can feel the flab around my neck increasing. the 1st of the month, the only day of the month you can really start a successful diet, other wise its doomed before you even start blending the leaf soup. i will be keeping to it right til 1pm christmas day! ..1:03 i will be celebrating the end by forcing a whole chocolate orange down my throat. over the past few years i've spent a good amount of my time experimenting with different eating and drinking techniques. first came the STUDENT diet. this was quite easy to follow..1) do NOT cook anything! 2)fast food is a MUST! at least 3 times a day 3) spend all your student loan's on booze and gambling. next up i tried the ALPHABET diet. it lasts 26 days. you must only eat food beginning with letter of that day..for example (refering to my diet log..true! i did keep one) on 'J day' i ate jelly babies, jaffa cakes, jam roly poly, and jetters (funny shaped breaded turkey for kids). then i tried the ATKINS diet, which was hell! i cracked on day 10 and ate 5 kiwi's and a box of clusters! the SKELETOR diet worked well recently. basically you don't eat anything..all day, then just at the point of fainting..you grab whatever's nearest to you and eat as fast as you can. the POOR MAN diet is a diet i keep coming back to. it's more or less the same as the 'skeletor' except you don't eat because you don't have the pennies to pay for it. so, time to unveil the new one. it's called the GROUNDHOG diet! very straight forward this one, i eat the same food everyday..everyday..everyday..groundhog day. nothing else allowed! not very exciting is it? what an anti-climax. anyway, let's meet my new buddies who i'll be murdering everyday til the queen raises her glass on christmas day...
WATCH FOR THE BUS MISS DRENDGE

I love it when stuff like this happens..i was stood in a que waiting for a bus home after a 10 hour stint at the warehouse. thinking about this n that.. my thoughts then suddenly switched to the fact that i needed a new watch (as mine stopped 2 months ago), a spilt second later a suited man knelt down next to me about a meter to the side of the que and picked up a watch which had a broken strap. he asked me if it was mine. i said no and he carried on walking. i then noticed a id card on the ground on my right, which belonged to a woman called E DRENDGE. re-arranging the letters in the name on the bus i came up with...RED GENED...which is not the answer to the riddle i had hoped for. google did'nt help me either when i typed in RED GENED. some where up there richard whitely is having a good laugh at me.
