HOT CHIPS IN THE SCHOOL CANTEEN

* Hot Chip are playing in an old school hall in Bristol this Thursday. i've entered a competition to win a ticket, if i don't win one i'll have to break in..and there's no way Headmaster can stop me.

* They have also announced that they are to play Bristol's Anson Rooms on 9th Oct.

* The shortlisted albums in contention for 2006's Mercury Music Prize will be revealed on Tuesday. Hot Chip MUST win!

MR SHEEN DID IT

I feel terrible. i had 3 flys buzzin' around my room so i tried to warn them that i wanted them out. i thought a quick blast of something would scare them out the window, i picked up Mr Sheen spray and fired in their direction, and now they're on their last legs (how many do flys have?) fighting for their lives on my carpet. oh lord what have i done? i did'nt mean to kill them, just usher them out. i'm going to hell for this. OH NO! (im not joking here) ..as i type this another massive fly is trying to get me! maybe it's the devil in disguise.

I gotta find a new house to live in..AND FAST! (and fast??..ha! what an idiot). it's so boring searching on the net, i just wanna grow into a giant, trample round Bristol picking up tiny roof's with my fingertips. in a booming giant's voice "HAVE YOU GOT A FAST INTERNET CONNECTION HERE!?..NO? WELL I'LL BE ON MY WAY THANK YOU" *thud thud thud* "HELLO.."

OH FESTIVAL

Oh dear i am in a sorry state. sat in on a saturday night on my own while my mum is out havin' it large at the Latitude Festival. i am so jealous *throws up hands* i need a drink. anyway, while i'm on the subject of festivals, you can watch vids from last weekend's T In The Park here (go to bands A-Z) woooah!! Animal Collective are on another planet! i really wanna go watch them live again, could'nt afford thursday's London show. also worth watching are the Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and Pharrel Williams sets. suppose i'll have to go watch that Glastonbury film thats on tv now..and maybe cut some toe nails.

Just watched Rob Brydon's new show 'Annually Retentive'..twas funny! it's a really odd set-up. it flips between a run of the mill quiz show and the backroom meetings (where Brydon loses it and slags everyone off). i've been told it's quite like Larry Sanders, which i'm ashamed to say i've never seen. you can watch the first two episodes here.

SYD BARRETT R.I.P

Sad sad news..Syd Barrett was pronounced dead today (he actually died a few days ago) aged 60. a big fave of mine, he created some of greatest sounds and lyrics these ears have ever heard. here are two of my favourite videos ever 'See Emily Play' and 'Arnold Layne', they don't make them like this anymore..
